Bread upma















Servings: 2-3

Ingredients:

Sandwich bread
400 grams

Oil
3-4 tbsp

Onion
1 medium
Chopped finely
Tomato
1 medium
Chopped finely (De-seeded)
Green chillies
2 medium
Chopped
Curry leaves
1 sprig

Coriander leaves
2-3 tbsp

Salt
To taste

Sugar
¼ tsp

Jeera
1 tsp

Mustard
1 tsp

Urad dal
1 tsp

Turmeric
A pinch

Kasuri methi
¼ tsp


Method:

Remove the brown sides of the bread and cut into bite size pieces. Set aside.




Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard, once it starts popping, add jeera, urad dal and curry leaves and saute till urad dal is light brown. Add green chillies, onion, turmeric, kasuri methi and saute till translucent. Add the tomatoes, salt, sugar and mix well. Cook covered until tomatoes turn soft.





Add the bread pieces and mix well. Add coriander leaves and mix well. 

Serve hot.

Tip:

Do not use sweet bread or milk bread as the bread will become clumsy.
