Harive soppu chutney




Servings: 5-6

Ingredients:

Red amaranthus / Harive soppu
½ bunch
Chopped, washed and drained
Onion
1 sliced + 1 chopped

Dried red chillies
3 broken

Tamarind
1/4th lemon size

Coconut
½ cup

Salt
To taste

Sugar
¼ tsp

Water
As required

Oil
1 tsp



Method:

Cook covered the chopped amaranthus leaves and onions together with a pinch of salt. Heat a tsp of oil in a small pan. Add the dried red chillies and tamarind and roast till light brown. Grind roasted red chillies, tamarind, salt, sugar, coconut, cooked leaves and onion mixture together in a blender to a smooth paste. Garnish with chopped onions.
      

Serve with rice, chapati, roti,....
