Method:
Wash and soak rice in a cup of water for 4 hours or overnight. Grind it to a smooth paste. Boil milk in a heavy bottom pan. Reduce the flame to low and add jaggery and cardamom powder. Once the jaggery melts, add the rice paste and mix well. Keep stirring from now on till the mixture starts to thicken and starts leaving the sides.Once the mixture starts leaving the sides, add 1 tbsp of ghee and mix well. It will form a lump. Grease a plate with ½ tsp of ghee and transfer the rice mixture to the plate. Spread well. Cool completely and cut into pieces of desired shape and garnish with raisins.
Serve cold / chilled.
Note:
This recipe takes time when you start stirring. You might have to stir the mixture around for 20-25 minutes.
Tip:
You can also use sugarcane juice to make the same. Just adjust sweetness.
