Mango pickle / Mavinakai uppinakai
















Ingredients:


Content
 Quantity
 Comment
Raw mango
1
Cut into cubes
Salt
to taste
Depending on the sourness of mango
MTR red chili powder
as required

Hing
1/2 tsp

Oil
3-4 tbsp
for tempering (more is required)
Mustard seeds
1 tsp












Method:


Mix the cubed raw mango pieces, salt and MTR chili powder in a bowl. Heat oil in a small pan, add mustard seeds. Once the mustard seeds start spluttering add hing and turn off the heat. Cool the oil a bit and add this to the mango mixture and mix well.

Store in a jar and set aside for 3 days. Keep mixing once a day for 3 days. Serve.
