Simple Dosa recipe

Ingredients:

Rice / Dosa rice
2 cups
Water
As required
Urad dal
½ cup
Poha
2-3 tbsp
Salt
To taste
Don’t add too much salt
Oil
For cooking









Method:


Wash rice and urad dal together and add poha. Pour water to cover the rice and dal and soak for 4 hours.

Grind the mixture to a fine paste and add water to keep it a bit thin. Make sure you dont add too much water.



Keep it covered overnight for the batter to ferment. The batter rises as shown after fermentation.


Mix a bit water to bring the batter to dosa batter consistency, that is, pouring consistency.


Heat greased dosa tawa on medium flame. Pour a ladle of batter and spread evenly to make dosa. Sprinkle a tbsp of oil on the dosa and along the edges of the dosa.


Flip over the dosa and cook the upper part. Cook for a minute.


Flip again and fold into half.


Serve hot with green chilly chutney or red chilly chutney.
