Lemon rice / Chitranna / Festival rice

½ lemon

Salt

Coriander leaves
2-3 tbsp

Curry leaves
1 sprig

Sugar
A pinch

Coconut
½ cup
Desiccated
Turmeric
¼ tsp

Channa dal
1 tbsp

Mustard
1 tsp

Jeera
1 tsp

Oil
3 tbsp

Peanuts
4-5 tbsp

Green chilies
2 medium
Slit







Method:

Heat oil in a kadai. Add channa dal. Once it starts turning light brown, add mustard, jeera, curry leaves, peanuts, a pinch of salt, a pinch of turmeric, green chilies and saute till peanuts change color. Add rice, salt, coconut, a pinch of sugar, coriander leaves and mix well. Turn off the heat and add lime juice and mix well. Set it aside for 2-3 mins. Serve hot.












Serve hot.
